2012 NCAA Tournament Picks
The best postseason in sports is upon us that being the NCAA Tournament. I thought I would share out my picks and see what everyone else has. I will list the winners by bracket and I’ll have my Final Four at the end of the article.
My first round winners in the South Region (going in order from top to bottom of the bracket) are Kentucky, Connecticut, VCU, Indiana, Colorado, Baylor, Notre Dame and Duke.
The teams advancing to the next round are Kentucky, VCU, Baylor and Duke.
In the Regional Semifinals I have Kentucky beating VCU and Baylor knocking out Duke.
My bracket winner for the South region earning a trip to New Orleans is #1 seed Kentucky after defeating Baylor.
My first round winners in the West Region are Michigan State, Memphis, Long Beach State, Louisville, Murray State, Marquette, Virginia and Missouri.
The second round winners are Michigan State, Louisville, Marquette and Missouri.
I have Louisville facing off against Missouri in the final and I have #2 seed Missouri advancing to the Final Four.
The East region first round winners include Syracuse, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Texas, Florida State, West Virginia and Ohio State.
The next round will see Syracuse, Wisconsin, Florida State and Ohio State advancing.
This is where the loss of Fab Melo hurts Syracuse as they get eliminated by Wisconsin and Ohio State knocks out Florida State.
#2 seed Ohio State will advance to the Final Four after defeating fellow Big Ten member Wisconsin.
The Midwest region first round winners include North Carolina, Alabama, Temple, Michigan, San Diego State, Georgetown, Saint Mary’s and Kansas.
The teams making it into the second round are North Carolina, Michigan, Georgetown and Kansas.
North Carolina and Kansas will move on to the Midwest final and North Carolina will bounce Kansas from the Tournament.
My Final Four feature two #1 seeds and two # 2 seeds. I have Kentucky beating Missouri to advance to the Championship game where they will face off against fellow #1 seed North Carolina. North Carolina will defeat Ohio State to play for the title.
Finally, I have the #1 seed overall in the Tournament Kentucky defeating North Carolina to win the 2012 NCAA Championship giving coach John Calipari his first title.
