Vita Vea Recruiting Update

The best thing about writing for a college blog is covering recruiting pieces, because they are easy to read, easy to write, easy to follow, and give us a better sense of team needs and the skills of a recruit. Defensive tackle Vita Vea is one of the top 20 DTs in the nation and a four-star recruit overall. Arizona, California, San Diego State, San Jose State, Tennessee, and Washington have all sent offers to Vita Vea, who is one of the top 20 recruits in the state of California.

It’s also safe to say that the 6’4″, 260 pound defensive tackle is one of the best 250 recruits in the country, and the Oregon Ducks are interested in him. One of the team’s needs is at DT, and it is arguably their biggest need for the 2013 Recruiting Class. Some of the better defensive tackle recruits are interested in the Ducks, and the team is hoping that Vita Vea might become one of them.

Right now, he is the top target of Tennessee and California, and USC could also be interested in adding Vita Vea. Florida, Georgie, Notre Dame, Virginia, and UCLA are also interested in the 247Sports top 150 recruit, with the Bruins another one of the teams going hard after Vita Vea. I think he stays in California and plays college in his home state, but Vea is a talented recruit who will hit the national scale soon with the big schools. Teams like the Gators and the Bulldogs are already showing interest in him, so it’s only a matter of time. Vita Vea is a top defensive line recruit to keep an eye on, because things will heat up for him by the summer.
