C.J. Williams and N.C. State winning
The N.C. State Wolfpack still have the lead against the Georgetown Hoyas, and they are winning 50-44 as I am typing out this sentence. C.J. Williams is starting to get some national attention by playing a strong game and fighting Georgetown’s Hollis Thompson bucket-for-bucket. Thompson is 6-10 with a game-high 17 points despite a 1-4 performance from 3. He has hit all four of his free throws and is willing Georgetown in this game that has N.C. State all over it.
Meanwhile, C.J. Williams and C.J. Leslie are both leading the way for N.C. State with 5-10 shooting performances each, with Williams having 14 total points compared to 12 from Leslie. However, Leslie has also put in some big effort on defense with 3 blocks, 2 steals, and 8 rebounds. Those numbers cannot be understated in this game that could become an upset and set off a huge run. The C.J.’s and Mark Gottfried deserve all the attention they can get for playing great basketball to this point.
Scott Wood has bounced back from a poor first half and has went 2-3 from deep with 7 total points, while only Thompson is having a strong game for the favored Hoyas.
