Oregon baseball (24-10, 10-5) again ventured to California to take on a ranked Pac-12 opponent over the weekend. The Ducks went to Klein Field at Sunken Diamond in Palo Alto, winning the first two games against the Stanford Cardinal (22-9, 5-7) before losing Sunday.

Just like last weekend it resulted in a jump in the national polls for Oregon. The biggest jump came in the Baseball America polls which the Ducks jumped from 16th to eighth which is the highest ranking since the program was revived in 2009.  In the Perfect Game top 50 they went from 18th to 11th and are also 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll where they were 17th last week.

Breaking down the conference by each poll, here is how the Pac-12 did.

  • Baseball America – UCLA 11th, Arizona 13th, Stanford 14th and Arizona State 20th
  • Perfect Game – UCLA 7th, Arizona 10th, Stanford 13th, Arizona State 20th, Oregon State 25th and California 43rd
  • USA Today/ESPN Top 25 – UCLA 7th, Stanford 10th and Arizona 16th

The team returns home tonight at 6 p.m. to PK Park against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, who was swept at Oregon State over the weekend. After tonight’s game the Ducks will play Portland at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer before returning home over the weekend against Washington State.
