Former Oregon Duck Cliff Harris begins camp in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp began yesterday where former Oregon Duck Cliff Harris is trying to earn a spot on the team.  Harris is currently wearing number 38 for the Eagles.  There is a video on philadelphiaeagles.com that previews the secondary battles for the Eagles and the media members talk about Harris and his chances of making the team.

Harris got a chance to work as a punt returner on the first day of camp as well as both the right and left corner positions and covering the slot.  The Eagles would really like to have someone take the slot position after Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie struggled with the transition last year after coming over from the Arizona Cardinals in a trade for Kevin Kolb.  The fact that Harris can play both positions has not gone unnoticed by the Eagles Staff.

In a blog on philly.com, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman speaks highly about Harris and other staff have called Harris extremely talented and hope his off the field distractions of the past are now behind him.  Harris needs to take advantage of his time during the minicamp because he will not be able to attend Organized Team Activities (OTA’s) because of the quarter system at Oregon.
