Dontre Wilson Commits to Oregon

The Ducks pick up their third football commitment and a second running back, beating out the University of Texas as the last options for the player.

At the DeSoto spring game last night, Dontre Wilson made his announcement. It was later confirmed in multiple reports, including this tweet by Matt Prehm.

Dontre Wilson is a four-star recruit that we featured when he announced that he will be choosing either Oregon or Texas to go to. He remains in the top 10 at the position across the recruiting services and on many of their best lists.

In Wilson’s junior season at DeSoto, he ran for just over six yards a carry (767 yards on 127 carries) and scored 15 touchdowns. Five more touchdowns were scored in the air, catching 12 balls for 246 yards. Some good highlight videos to watch are this one by 3rd Coast Recruiting along with this one by 247sports.

Stay tuned with Autzen Zoo for more on the third commitment for the 2013 recruiting class. Until then, here’s a picture of Wilson sporting some Ducks gear.
