Autzen Zoo presents daily Chip Kelly quotes and analysis as the media is locked out from all practice coverage of the football team as they get ready for the 2012 season. All thanks to The Oregonian providing video.

Not much news today as far as figuring out who is playing really well on the football field as the competition begins to heat up. According to head coach Chip Kelly, full contact will be assessed beginning tomorrow in practice.

Is there any specific position that’s standing out in practice? Oh, not really…

“They’re all playing at a really high level right now,” Kelly said. “There’s certain guys that are playing really well, but everyone’s playing really good right now.”

And if there was anyone that was standing out specifically, Kelly lists off the whole starting lineup as players that looked pretty good in practice.

Is there anything else that we learned during practice today?

“In the first competition today we had two illegal procedure penalties but besides that we’ve been pretty clean,” Kelly said. “It’s one of those things, you’re either coaching it or allowing it to happen. We certainly don’t coach it. So whether it’s happened in drill work or something like that our coaches have cleaned it up so when we’re in team situations, it’s been pretty clean so far.”

Well that’s just fantastic. In other news, Oregon may or may not have helped find a home for former wide receiver, Tacoi Sumler, who is going to play for Appalachian State this fall.
