NFL Preseason: LaMichael James Gets an Injury

Four former Ducks contributed in the Houston Texans vs. San Francisco 49ers preseason game, including spotlight running back LaMichael James.

However, it wasn’t all good for the back. James limped off during the fourth quarter. Head coach Jim Harbaugh said that he should be fine and will be in practice on Monday.

James finished with the most production of any Ducks on the night. Along with collecting 19 yards on four carries, he had three kickoff returns for 77 yards and participated in two punt returns.

Another player on the Niners was linebacker Kenny Rowe who had a tackle. Defensive back Eddie Pleasant had two tackles and defensive end Ra’Shon Harris had three tackles for the Houston Texans, who picked up the 20-9 victory over San Francisco.

Six field goals were scored and the Texans had a nine-yard catch from quarterback Matt Schaub to Lester Jean for a touchdown and Trindon Holliday returned a punt for a touchdown for 87 yards.

Other Ducks Around the League

  • Quarterback Kellen Clemens had the best completion percentage of any quarterback for St. Louis, completing 8-10 passes for 50 yards. They defeated Kansas City 31-17.
  • Linebacker Spencer Paysinger had four tackles for the New York Giants in a 26-3 blowout over the New York Jets.
  • Defensive tackle Matt Toeaina had two tackles and a half-sack for Chicago in a 33-31 victory over Washington.
  • Wide receiver Lavasier Tuinei caught one ball for eight yards for Seattle in a 30-10 victory over San Diego.
