NFL Preseason: Week 4 Recap

Three Duck alumni appear on the rosters of the Ravens and Rams.  Kellen Clemens threw for ten yards on two completions for the Rams in their 31-17 victory.  Clemens also rushed for six yards on two carries.  Haloti Ngata and Ed Dickson did not play for the Ravens.  The Ravens take on their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, to begin the regular season on Monday night.

Pittsburgh edged out Carolina by a 17-16 score in preseason action.  Tight end David Paulson had one catch for three yards in the Steelers win.  Jonathan Stewart did not play for the Panthers.  The Steelers begin their regular season with a playoff rematch against the Broncos on Sunday night football.  The Panthers travel to Tampa Bay to battle the Bucs on Sunday afternoon.

Nick Reed continued his superb play in the preseason in the Vikings loss to the Texans.  Reed had two tackles, one sack and one tackle for a loss in the 28-24 defeat.  Geoff Schwartz plays guard for the Vikings as well.  Jeff Maehl caught two balls for five yards for the Texans while Eddie Pleasant had three tackles and one pass defended.  The Texans welcome the Dolphins to Houston next Sunday.

Chicago defeated Cleveland 28-20 with neither Duck in this game showing up in the box score.  Matt Toeaina plays for the Bears while T.J. Ward plays in the secondary for the Browns.  The Bears play at home against the Colts to start their season.

San Francisco beat down San Diego 35-3.  LaMichael James ran the ball five times for 27 yards, had two catches for twenty-six yards and returned two kickoffs for 60 yards.  Kenny Rowe had two tackles and one quarterback hit. Will Tukuafu had one tackle for the 49ers.  Dante Rosario did not have any stats for the Chargers.

The Seahawks defeated the Raiders 21-3.  Max Unger is the starting center for Seattle.  Lavasier Tuinei is trying to make the team as a wide receiver and did not have any catches.  Walter Thurmond is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list for the Seahawks.  The Raiders do not have a Duck on the roster.

Finally, the Broncos defeated the Cardinals 16-13 on a field goal as time expired.  Adam Snyder is a starting guard for the Cardinals while Jeremiah Johnson is a running back for the Broncos.  Johnson had five carries for 31 yards and one catch for twelve yards in the win.
