Meanwhile, Thomas Tyner had another solid performance in a more workhorse-like game, thus showing his versatility and ability to grind out the tough yards. It was a tough defensive game for Aloha, but Tyner led the way in their 13-8 victory over Sunset with 254 rushing yards on 47 carries (5.5 yards per carry).

In other recruiting news, the Ducks will be hosting four football recruits in offensive lineman Thomas Oser, the Robinson twins, and four-star tackle Alex Redmond. Oser has Oregon in his top three along with Stanford and Vanderbilt, and it will be interesting to see if OL Doug Brenner’s commitment to the Ducks has affected Oser’s recruitment significantly. And yes, Doug is Liz Brenner’s (Oregon Ducks women’s basketball player) brother.

It doesn’t stop at football, however, as the fifth-best basketball recruit in the 2013 class is visiting Oregon this weekend. Aaron Gordon, who is the nation’s second-best small forward, also has official visits to Arizona, Washington, and Kansas lined up in the future. Washington is said to be in a better position to land the prized five-star recruit, so this visit is extremely crucial for Oregon. Gordon currently has a top three of Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.
