Oregon Ducks in the NFL: Week 6

Week six of the NFL season will wrap up tonight with the Broncos traveling to San Diego to take on the Chargers.  Former Duck tight end Dante Rosario should see time in the game for the Chargers.  Twenty-three other former Ducks were on active rosters this week.  This list includes Fenuki Tupou, Matt Toeaina and Jonathan Stewart who were all on bye weeks for the Saints, Bears and Panthers respectively.

Tight end David Paulson was the first ex-Duck to play this week as his Steelers lost to the Titans on Thursday night by a score of 26-23.  Paulson caught one pass for eight yards in the contest.  He has two receptions for sixteen yards on the year.

Jairus Byrd had a big hand in the Bills 19-16 victory over the Cardinals in overtime.  The safety had two interceptions on the game with the second one setting up a game winning field goal.  His final interception came off John Skelton.  He also added four solo tackles, one tackle for loss and two passes defended.  Adam Snyder is the starting right guard for the Cardinals.

Three former Ducks appeared in the Seahawks’ upset victory over the Patriots by a final of 24-23.  Patrick Chung had four tackles in the loss with two of them being solo.  Max Unger is the starting center for Seattle and Walter Thurmond is a cornerback.  Thurmond is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Two previous Ducks suited up in the Dolphins 17-14 victory over the Rams in Miami.  Linebacker Josh Kaddu did not record any stats while Kellen Clemens is the backup quarterback to Sam Bradford.  Clemens did not see any action in the game.

The Atlanta Falcons remain as the only unbeaten team left in the NFL.  They improved to 6-0 with a 23-20 victory over the Raiders.  Wide receiver D.J. Davis did not catch any passes in the game but was credited with one tackle.

The Cleveland Browns picked up their first victory of the season with a 34-24 home victory over the Bengals.  Safety T.J. Ward had three tackles to contribute to the win.

Spencer Paysinger picked up a tackle in the Giants 26-3 beating of the 49ers in San Francisco.  The 49ers have two former Ducks on their squad in LaMichael James and Will Tukuafu.  Tukuafu did not register any statistics in the game while James was inactive.

Defensive players Ra’Shon Harris and Casey Matthews both fell on the losing side of games yesterday.  Harris did not register any tackles in the Texans 42-24 loss at home to the Packers.  Matthews made one tackle in the Eagles 26-23 overtime loss at home to the Lions.
