Oregon Ducks in the NFL: Week 8

Week eight of the NFL season kicked off last Thursday with the Tampa Bay Bucs upsetting the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 36-17 in Minnesota.  LeGarrette Blount of Tampa Bay had eight carries for sixteen yards in the game.  The Vikings had offensive lineman Mark Asper inactive for the game while fellow guard Geoff Schwartz was active.  Schwartz is a backup.

There is one last game to be played tonight in Arizona with the 49ers set to take on the Cardinals.  Adam Snyder is a starting guard for the Cardinals.  The 49ers carry LaMichael James and FB/DT Will Tukuafu.  James has no stats on the year.

The Denver Broncos beat up on the New Orleans Saints in the Sunday night game in Denver by a 34-14 score.  There were no active Ducks in this game but there is one on each side.  Tackle Fenuki Tupou is currently on Injured Reserve for the Saints.  Running back Jeremiah Johnson is on the practice squad of the Broncos.

Linebacker Josh Kaddu was inactive for the Dolphins in their 30-9 victory over the Jets.  David Paulson was active but did not catch any passes in the Steelers 27-12 victory over the Redskins.  Spencer Paysinger had two solo tackles in the Giants road victory over the Cowboys.  The Giants won 29-24.  Defensive lineman Brandon Bair is currently on the practice squad of the Oakland Raiders.  The Raiders defeated the Chiefs 26-16 yesterday afternoon.

Jonathan Stewart rushed the ball 17 times for 42 yards in the Panthers 23-22 loss to the Bears.  He also caught four passes for 38 yards.  Defensive tackle Matt Toeaina was inactive for the Bears.

The Cleveland Browns defeated the Chargers by a 7-6 score yesterday in a game featuring two former Ducks.  T.J. Ward had two solo tackles and one quarterback hit for the Browns.  Dante Rosario caught two passes for eleven yards for the Chargers in defeat.

Patrick Chung was inactive for the Patriots in their 45-7 victory over the Rams in London.  Kellen Clemens saw action in relief for Sam Bradford.  Clemens completed one of two passes for 39 yards with one interception.  He rushed the ball two times for five yards as well.

Wide receiver Drew Davis was the only former Duck to score yesterday.  Davis caught two passes for 30 yards and one score in the Falcons 30-17 win over the Eagles.  His fifteen-yard touchdown put the Falcons up 7-0 in that game.  Casey Matthews had two solo tackles for the Eagles.

The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Detroit Lions 28-24 on Sunday.  Max Unger is the starting center for the Seahawks while Walter Thurmond is on the physically unable to perform list for the Seahawks.
