Oregon Ducks in the NFL: Week 17

The final weekend of the NFL season wrapped up on Sunday with playoff spots still on the line.  The Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks will all be going from the NFC.  The AFC teams are the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals.

The Buffalo Bills defeated the New York Jets 28-9 at home to split their season series.  Jairus Byrd had five tackles and one tackle-for-loss for the Bills.  The New York Giants blew out the Philadelphia Eagles 42-7 to even that series as well.  Spencer Paysinger made four tackles and one tackle-for-loss for the Giants.  Casey Matthews did not record any stats for the Eagles.

The Washington Redskins defeated the Dallas Cowboys 28-18 to win the NFC East Division.  Darrion Weems was inactive for Dallas.  The Denver Broncos clinched the top spot in the AFC with their 38-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Jeremiah Johnson is on the practice squad for the Broncos.

The Minnesota Vikings clinched their playoff berth with a 37-34 victory over the Green Bay Packers.  Geoff Schwartz was active for the Vikings.  The New England Patriots shut out the Miami Dolphins 28-0.  Patrick Chung had six tackles and one pass defended for the Pats.  Josh Kaddu was inactive for the Dolphins.

The San Diego Chargers got by the Oakland Raiders by a 24-21 score.  Dante Rosario made a tackle in the win while Brandon Bair was inactive for the Raiders.  The San Francisco 49ers head to the postseason off a 27-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals.  LaMichael James carried the ball seven times for 49 yards while returning one kickoff 33 yards.  Will Tukuafu was inactive for the 49ers.  Adam Snyder played the offensive line for the Cardinals.

The Seattle Seahawks won another home game as they beat the St. Louis Rams 20-13.  Max Unger started at center while Walter Thurmond was inactive.  Kellen Clemens did not see any action for the Rams.

LeGarrette Blount did not touch the ball in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons.  Drew Davis was credited with one tackle for the Falcons.  The Cincinnati Bengals beat their division rival Baltimore Ravens 23-17 at home.  Ed Dickson caught six passes for 64 yards in the loss.  Haloti Ngata did not play while Dennis Dixon is on the practice squad of Baltimore.

The Chicago Bears defeated the Detroit Lions 26-24 to end their year.  Matt Toeaina is on the injured reserve list for Chicago.  Mark Asper was active for his new team as the Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Tennessee Titans 38-20.

Eddie Pleasant was active but did not record any tackles in the Houston Texans 28-16 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.  Jeff Maehl is on the Texans practice squad.  Jonathan Stewart was inactive for the Carolina Panthers as they beat the New Orleans Saints 44-38.  David Paulson was targeted once but did not make any catches for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they beat the Cleveland Browns 24-10.  T.J. Ward is on the injured reserve list for the Browns.

Jeremiah Johnson, Geoff Schwartz, Patrick Chung, LaMichael James, Will Tukuafu, Max Unger, Walter Thurmond, Drew Davis, Ed Dickson, Haloti Ngata, Dennis Dixon, Eddie Pleasant and Jeff Maehl all head to the postseason with a chance to win a Super Bowl.
