I covered the 2012 Olympic Trials so I thought I would take a moment to write about the incoming  2013 class. The big stage is not new to any of these athletes, some have even competed at Hayward Field in high school.

National Signing Day has come and gone, and many just focus on football recruits, but other sports also have athletes sign Letters of Intent that day. Of note, Oregon Track and Field Women had a very solid singning Class of 2013.

Sheldon High School had several of their athletes become Ducks and some of the top talent around the country will be spending time competing at Historic Hayward Field in the coming years. Among them, Oregon signee Haley Crowser from Gresham who set the Junior record for the Javelin, and is no stranger to Hayward, she placed 7th in the event during the 2012 Olympic Trials.

The Ducks reached into Canada to sign Christian Brennan(Ontario) who currently holds the junior record for the 200 and 400 meters. At the 2011 Canadian Championships she took the bronze in the 200 meters.

"“With this class, I believe we brought the best prospects in each event area to the University of Oregon and they will be in a position to carry on the tradition of the incredible senior class that they will be replacing.”Robert Johnson, Oregon Track and Field CoachOregon added to its list of middle distance runners by adding three.Kansas State record holder Alii Cash who broke a 32 year old record when she won the 2012 Kansas State title in the 1600 meters.Therese Haiss(Ohio) is the defending 800 meter winner for the State of Ohio.Nikki Hiltz(California) took the State title in the 1600 meters and ranked 3rd nationally."
