Oregon Baseball: Starting Pitcher Jeff Gold Hit By Comeback Pitch, Leaves with 3-1 Lead vs Hawaii

Oregon has enjoyed their time in Hawai’i so far. The Ducks have a three game lead in the four game series. Sophomore Jeff Gold lasted four and two thirds innings before being knocked out of the game by being hit by a line drive on his left ankle.

He is done for the day and was helped off the field by several teammates. Oregon has a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the 5th inning. Gold was one out away from earning a potential victory in the fourth and final game of the series.

Oregon used four pitchers after Gold’s exit to close out the game and the sweep for the Ducks. For the game Oregon Senior J.J. Altobelli went 3-4 with two RBI’s an a run scored. He is batting .462 to start the season.

Starting Pitcher Jeff Gold’s status is still not known.
