The Oregon Women’s basketball team(4-24, 2-14 Pac 12) will close out its season this weekend at Matthew Knight Arena. Friday at 7pm they host #19 Colorado(22-5, 11-5 Pac 12). Oregon has had a forgetful season. It started out promising, but injuries started piling up and the Ducks could never get past injured starters to get positive momentum to endure the Pac 12 Season.

There have been some bright spots for the 2012-2013 Lady Ducks. One is the play of  Center Jill Alleyne, the Freshman has been electric and is Oregon’s leading scorer and rebounder.

Lindsay Schnell from the Oregonian recently caught up with Alleyne, who also has ten double doubles this season. She says that Alleyne is looking forward to offseason workouts and getting stronger for the 2013-2014 Season.

Alleyne says the losses have taken their toll.

"“It’s been tough. I wouldn’t say the losing has made me a better person, but it’s helped me become a mature person. I have a strong faith, and it took me awhile to realize that God has a bigger plan. I didn’t come here to lose — that’s not my purpose. There’s something more, and what I need to do is keep playing hard. I know I’m here for a better and bigger reason than a win-loss record.”"

Friday’s game will feature something different at halftime. Bring the kids to see a mascot game of hoops(including the Duck, of course). Oregon closes out the regular season on Sunday against Utah(Sunday, 2pm).

The Women’s Pac 12 Tournament begins Thursday March 7th in Seattle. Oregon will possibly face Colorado again in the first round.
