Oregon Softball: Ducks Come Home After 21-4 Tourney Run, Host New Mexico Wednesday

Oregon Softball(21-4) finished out the Tournament part of their schedule this past weekend in Fresno, going 3-1.

Junior Shortstop Courtney Ceo is on a tear. Oregon faced off with San Diego State(11-11) to begin the tournament. Ceo had the hot bat. She drove in the winning run in the seventh inning as the Ducks won 3-2 .

The game against host Fresno State(14-10) Friday evening had Oregon leading Fresno State  5-1, but the game was cancelled due to rain.

For the first game Saturday the Ducks took on Iowa State. Ceo went 3-4 leading the Ducks with her 11th multi hit game. Junior Firstbaseman Kaley Cuico saw her 18 game hitting streak come to an end vs the Cyclones. She was 0-3 in the 2-1 loss.

In the afternoon game on Saturday Oregon took care of the St. Mary’s Gaels(4-13) winning their 20th win all time vs St Mary’s. The hitting continued for Oregon, Ceo went 2-4, Outfielder Janie Takeda was 3-4 with an RBI and Second Baseman Kaylan Howard went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s.

Now that the non conference slate is finished, the Ducks return home to Howe Field for the first time this year. They will take on New Mexico in a Doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 2pm. Oregon then hosts Stanford to kick off the Pac 12 schedule this weekend. The weekend action against the Cardinal will be available on the Pac 12 Live Stream.
