Big Weekend for Oregon Women’s Track and Field, Winning 4th Consecutive Indoor Title

There were plenty of finishes that weren’t a ‘first place’ finish, but Oregon picked up the one they needed the most. Oregon’s Comeback from 12 points down last Saturday was fueled by record setting performances in the 4X400 relay.

English Gardner, Chizoba Okodogbe, Laura Roesler and Phyllis Francis won the 4×400 relay for the Ducks in a school record 3:30.22. With the indoor and cross country titles now in hand, the Ducks have brought two of the three legs of the “triple crown” home to Eugene, where the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be contested June 5-8, according to the release from the U of O.

In other Track and Field News, Oregon Track Club’s Matthew Centrowitz is profiled in the lastest edition of  Track and Field News.

He also talks about a new way of ticket distribution that would not involve the schools, but the affiliated bowls and the conference. Lastly he discusses the Pac 12 Network Deal with DirecTV and says to not expect anything ‘soon.’
