Oregon Volleyball: 2013 Schedule Released, Ducks Face Michigan, Michigan State in Nonconference Slate

The National Runner Up Oregon Ducks Women’s Volleyball team’s 2013 schedule has been released by the Pac 12. The Ducks have their usual in conference slate, including two Civil War matchups with the in state Oregon State Beavers, Wednesday, September 25th(away) and Friday November 29th(home). The non conference schedule is intriguing.

Here are some of the highlights:

The season begins with a series of home games at Matthew Knight Arena.

First up, Eastern Washington University on Friday August 30th. The University of Oregon Tournament starts on Saturday August 31st the Bryant University Bulldogs come to town. If you knew before reading this that Bryant University is in Rhode Island you get a gold star. Ohio University will also be playing that weekend. Oregon hosts Portland State on Tuesday September 2nd before heading east to play in the Big 10/Pac 12 Challege with in state rival Oregon State. They face the Michigan Schools (Michigan/Michigan State) Friday September 6th and Saturday September 7th.

The Ducks then return home to face Seattle on Tuesday September 1oth and hit the road to face Bakersfield Friday September 13th. The Ducks close out Non Conference play on Saturday September 14th with a double header.  Coach Moore and the team will face Belmont at 10am and Fresno at 7pm. Oregon’s Pac 12 slate begins 11 days later at Oregon State.

The Ducks have two All American returnees this Fall in Lauren Plum and do every possible sport athlete Liz Brenner. It will be Head Coach Jim Moore’s 9th season leading Oregon who looks to capitilize on last seasons Pac 12 Runner up and #2 Final Ranking.
