PAC-12 Baseball Weekend Recap (June 19/College World Series Edition)

The College World Series is in full swing and the PAC-12 still has two teams in the running for the national championship in Omaha. UCLA has made it through to the bracket two title game going 2-0 while Oregon State has a loss and needs three wins to make the title series.

Below are regional scores, recaps and NCAA College World Series results/start times to keep you up to speed on PAC-12 baseball.

Weekend Results June 15-19 (National Seeding):
Saturday – Mississippi State 5 v. 3 Oregon State 4
Sunday – UCLA 2 v. 4 LSU 1
Monday – 3 Oregon State 11 v. Louisville 4
Tuesday – UCLA 2 v. North Carolina State 1

College World Series Recap –
(Mississippi State-Oregon State): Oregon State took a 4-3 lead to the eighth inning before Wes Rea put the Bulldogs ahead with a two out double off Matt Boyd giving MSU a 5-4 lead. Oregon State had the winning runs on base against the Bulldogs closer Jonathan Holder but Danny Hayes flew out to right field at the warning track to end the game.

(UCLA-LSU): Adam Plutko versus Aaron Nola was as advertised with both starters going seven innings. UCLA scored two unearned runs after trailing 1-0. David Berg has an adventure in the ninth inning before locking down his 22nd save of the season.

(Oregon State-Louisville): In the first elimination game of the 2013 CWS, Oregon State put away Louisville early scoring three runs in the third and seven in the fourth to cruise to the win. Ben Wetzler threw 6.1 innings with four Beavers having two hits each.

(UCLA-NC State): The Bruins have scored two wins and have scored only four runs in the process of reaching the bracket two title game. Nick Vander Tuig threw seven solid innings before handing it off to Berg for the two inning save. Kevin Kramer had the only Bruins RBI in the victory and UCLA will face the winner of North Carolina-North Carolina State on Friday.

Wednesday, June 19 – 3 Oregon State Beavers v. Indiana Hoosiers/B1G, 5 pm/ESPN
Friday, June 21 – North Carolina Tar Heels/North Carolina State Wolfpack winner v. UCLA Bruins, 5 pm/ESPN
