The game of baseball is a fun one to play, specifically if your fresh out of high school. I can’t count how many high school pitchers went in this years MLB Draft and I am hopeful that an eventual big league career will work out for them. Matt Krook – very cool name by the way, was the 35th pick in this year’s draft and decided not to go pro but to go to college and to honor his commitment to the University of Oregon according to Fishstripes.com

Krook is a Northern California native and games at PK Park may feel more like home than playing for a farm team in God Knows Where with the Marlins. Miami lost a good one in their 2013 Draft, but add Krook to the bevy of arms the Ducks already have headed into the season. I’m sure the musical selection for when he heads to the mound is already chosen, but I have no idea what song it is.

I am sure Coach Horton is happy to have another major league caliber arm in his arsenal coming into next season. We can hope at this point that Closer Jimmie Sherfy decides to pitch for the Ducks for his senior year.
