Now that we’re just under two months out from the College Football season things are certainly starting to gear up in that direction. There is plenty to wet the appetites of Oregon Football fans in this weeks LinkedUp including a pretty solid piece on incoming Running Back Thomas Tyner and a look at the Ducks Secondary, who Phil Steele has pretty close to the top of his list. ‘The Opening’, a high school football camp for top recruits is going on this week in Beaverton and several recruits have also announced their intent to play for the Ducks.

OregonLive.com is reporting that several recruits have announced they are becoming Ducks, including 6 foot 195 pound Cornerback Arrion Springs and Morgan Mahalak, who gave the Ducks a commitment during the Spring game, was participating in The Opening.

Both are members of the 2014 Recruiting Class.

A pretty high profile recruit for the incoming class is Aloha High school and Oregon native Thomas Tyner.  In an article from the Oregonian Tyner likes playing the piano, and one of his favorites…Celene Dion(betcha didn’t see that one coming). There is some other insight into the young man as well. Tyner is expected to be a part of the Ducks backfield this upcoming season.

Finally, earlier this week Phil Steele’s Pac 12 Conference breakdown was announced. He chose the Ducks to win the Pac 12 North and the USC Trojans to take the Pac 12 South. Among the areas of interest was the status of the secondary of the teams in the Pac 12. Steele pegged the Ducks at #1. For some of the reasons as to why, FishDuck takes a closer look.
