2013 PAC-12 Know the Opponent: San Diego State

San Diego State went 9-4 and 7-1 in the Mountain West Conference, claiming a piece of the conference title with Boise and Fresno State. The Aztecs have gone to bowl games the past three seasons (Poinsettia twice and New Orleans) losing two of the three.

Rocky Long begins his third season at the helm of the program after taking over for Brady Hoke when he left for Ann Arbor. Long is 17-9 in San Diego and for his career 82-78 which includes a 1-8 bowl record, he’s still looking for that first postseason win with the Aztecs but last season’s title was progress for SDSU.

Junior Adam Dingwell has been pegged as the starting quarterback and had a decent 2012 throwing for 939 yards and eight touchdowns in addition to running for 175 yards before being replaced last season.

Fellow junior Adam Muema ran for 1502 yards and 16 touchdowns with just 44 yards lost. The passing game will need another solid year from Muema with the team’s tops receivers gone from last year’s team.

Overall SDSU returns 15 starters nine on defense and six on offense, the Aztecs only loss three of their top 15 players who led in tackles from 2012. San Diego State veteran defense will make it tough for anyone on the schedule.

Saturday, September 21 they’ll host Oregon State at 4:30 pm on CBS College Sports Network.
