Last night it was LaMichael James making plays, or trying to for the San Francisco 49ers. On Friday it was former Duck and Carolina Panther Kenjon Barner who had 37 yards on the night with a touchdown in a 24-17 win over the Chicago Bears. In the Rushing Column of the stat sheet he led the Panthers in his first NFL Preseason game.

For Kenjon the game did not start out that way – the TD was a bit of a redemption from an earlier fumble:

"“That’s unacceptable. I can’t have that. In no way, shape or form can you win games with turnovers. I’ve got to get that corrected.”"

Carolina next heads to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to take on Barner’s former coach at Oregon, Chip Kelly and the Eagles next Thursday August 15th.

There were some other former Ducks making Defensive plays on Friday night – but in Miami. The Dolphins top draft pick Dion Jordan was making ‘Matchups to Watch’ lists but he was not on the stat sheet for the game, but his teammate at Oregon Michael Clay made two solo tackle and recovered a forced fumble. Former Ducks Josh Kaddu also made some defensive plays for Miami in a rout of sorts 27-7 over Jacksonville.

Miami next travels to Houston on Saturday August 17th.

Oregon is well represented in the NFL this season with players like James, Barner, Clay, Jordan and Kaddu. Their work ethic and play on the field got them drafted or chosen to play in the NFL. Over the coming weeks we’ll continue to follow these players to see if they make the team when the real games begin.
