TeamTix: A New Way to Get Into the Rose Bowl in 2014..Kind Of, Use At Your Own Risk

I realize the term ‘jumping the gun’ certainly applies here, but the concept is pretty good. Here’s the deal… For the upcoming(and final) BCS Championship Game and the Rose Bowl(happens to be kinda special since it’s the 100th), TeamTix is giving fans the opportunity to ‘reserve’ a spot in line to buy tickets ‘IF’ your team happens to play in either game. There is a cost…which if your team makes it will go toward the face value of the actual ticket…Here’s the gamble…if your team does not make it – you don’t get your moneyback.
The Ticket ‘Market’ can fluctuate throughout the season so finding the right time to buy into TeamTix is dependent on the demand for tickets. For example, if you want the chance at Tickets to see the Ducks in the National Title Game as of August 19th it would cost you $85+ today to ‘hold’ the ticket. If Oregon makes the it to the BCS National Championship game you would then pay the full cost of the ticket. I used End Zone Seats as the example. ($325 minus the 85+) Consider it putting down a ‘reservation’ on the future of your favorite team…if you dare. There is a reason games are played on the field and not on paper – and there is a reason certain teams have a guy named Maldonado as a ‘Field Goal Kicker’ – just sayin’.
Currently the Rose Bowl game tickets are cheaper for Oregon at $35 for End Zone seats.
If you are a Big 10 or Pac 12 fan the Rose Bowl opportunity may be something to consider. The concept is very creative, but so is the catch. Check it out at your own risk. It’s like the Stock Market game we all played in High School with fake money – consider this similar, only the money is yours and if the gamble doesn’t pay off – aka your team doesn’t make it – you lose.
