Now that cut day has come and gone and teams are putting the finishing touches on their 2013 Rosters one team may(or may not) have a unique advantage heading into the season. Former Oregon Coach Chip Kelly has five of his former players on the roster or practice squad in Philly. The latest addition being former Duck Defensive End Brandon Bair who was added to the Practice Squad. According to Philly.com, he went undrafted in 2011 and spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. He’s never played in the NFL. He’a also 28.

On the roster Kelly has some familiar names from his success at Oregon including Wide Receiver Jeff Maehl, Safety Patrick Chung, Linebacker Casey Matthews and Lineman Issac Remington(who joins Bair on the practice squad.)

Former Oregon Quarterback Dennis Dixon was a member of the team through the preseason but was cut on Saturday. The Quarterback monster in Philly was getting pretty large with Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Matt Barkley. Foles has shown some flashes in the preseason and will likely be the backup for Vick.

Also cut was Wide Receiver Will Murphy(another Oregon Duck).  Murphy was brought in to compete for one of the final spots in the Eagles wide receiver corp. The Eagles were hit with an injury bug early in the off-season when starting wide receiver Jeremy Maclin tore his ACL in late July according to LaneToday

Philadelphia starts the 2013 campaign vs Washington and RGIII on Monday night – kickoff set for 3:55 pm PT on ESPN.
