Oregon Ducks vs Virginia: 3 Things We Should See

Last week I was 2 for 3 with my picks for the Oregon Ducks – Quarterback Marcus Mariota did pick up where he left off and the Oregon Offense went more crazy than I thought. This week the Ducks face ACC Opponent Virginia who is a little better competition than Nicholls State.

Here’s what I see taking place on Saturday inside Scott Stadium.

1. Virginia Will Score  It is possible that Virginia puts some points on the board against Oregon. Up front they are very strong on both sides of the ball. However I don’t see the Cavaliers being able to keep pace with Oregon much past halftime.

2. Pick Your Poison.Oregon Will Still Score I realize that Oregon has only played one game but if you look at ways the Ducks play – Speed is the name of the game. Whether you stop the run or the pass when you have a mobile quarterback like Mariota he can get you either way – then there are playmakers like De’Anthony Thomas who can run with the ball or catch it out of the backfield and the plethora of Running Backs and Wide Receivers who can handle the ball. Virginia will have to play a great game defensively to have a chance at topping the #2 team in the Coountry.

3. Can’t Stop DAT Man Oregon Running Back De’Anthony Thomas, who had a career high in carries last week will score Three Touchdowns in Virginia and he will run one of them from over 50 yards out. (How’s that for a prediction).

This game may be closer at the half then Nicholls State, but Oregon should win by at least two+ touchdowns.
