PAC-12 Football Weekend Recap (Week 5)

Saturday all five games were won convincingly by the winning teams home teams won four games with one neutral site victory. To emphasize the point, winning teams scored 49.4 while teams that lost scored 20.8. Oregon, Stanford and Washington remain unbeaten where the PAC-12 North currently has four teams with 2-0 or 1-0 records.

Saturday, September 28 –

Colorado Buffaloes (2-1, 0-1 PAC-12) 17 @ Oregon State Beavers (4-1, 2-0 PAC-12) 44: Colorado tied the game at three then Oregon State rattled off 35 straight points. Sean Mannion threw for 414 with six touchdowns to one INT. Team Beavers went over 100 yards receiving with Brandin Cooks catching nine passes for 168 yards with two scores, Terron Ward had seven catches 103 yards with a score. Next Game for Colorado – October 5 v. 2 Oregon (4-0, 1-0 PAC-12), 3 pm/PAC-12 Network. Next Game for Oregon State – October 12 @Washington State (3-2, 1-1 PAC-12), TBA

Arizona Wildcats (3-1, 0-1 PAC-12) 13 @ 16 Washington Huskies (4-0, 1-0 PAC-12) 31: Washington continued their unbeaten start blowing out Arizona at Husky Stadium. Bishop Sankey again carried the load running 40 times for 161 yards with a score. Keith Price was 14-of-25 for 165 yards with two TD passes. Next Game for Arizona – October 10 @USC (3-2, 0-2 PAC-12), 7:30 pm/FS1. Next Game for Washington – October 5 @5 Stanford (4-0, 2-0 PAC-12), 7:30 pm/ESPN

5 Stanford Cardinal (4-0, 2-0 PAC-12) 55 v. Washington State Cougars (3-2, 1-1 PAC-12) 17, game played in Seattle at CenturyLink Field: Stanford continued the theme of blowout Saturday by dispatching Wazzu quickly in Seattle. Kevin Hogan threw for 286 yards with three TD passes for the Cardinal. Offensively the team had a balanced attack putting up 560 yards total, with 322 through the air and 238 on the ground. The team had 40 rushing attempts with Tyler Gaffney having the team high 14 but just 54 yards. Next Game for Stanford – October 5 v. 15 Washington (4-0, 1-0 PAC-12), 7:30 pm/ESPN. Next Game for Washington State October 5 @California (1-3, 0-1 PAC-12), 1 pm/FS1

Southern California Trojans (3-2, 0-2 PAC-12) 41 @ Arizona State Sun Devils (3-1, 1-1 PAC-12) 62: In what turned out to be the final game in the Lane Kiffin era ASU ran up and down the field on USC. The Trojans led 21-20 early in the third quarter but then the Sun Devils cranked things up outscoring Southern Cal 42-20 the rest of the way. Arizona State forced four turnovers included a pick-six from Alden Darby that turned a six-point lead into a 13 point cushion in the third during ASU’s 28-0 run in the third. Taylor Kelly threw for 351 yards and three scores in the blowout win. Next Game for Southern California – October 10 v. Arizona (3-1, 0-1 PAC-12), 7:30 pm/FS1. Next Game for Arizona State – October 5 v. Notre Dame (3-2) in Arlington, TX at Cowboys Stadium, 4:30 pm/NBC

California Golden Bears (1-3, 0-1 PAC-12) 16 @ 2 Oregon Ducks (4-0, 1-0 PAC-12) 55: Oregon led 41-0 before Cal finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter. The Ducks only put up 381 yards, the Bears even in defeat had 325 on the evening. Bralon Addison returned two punts for touchdowns on the soggy night at Autzen with his first 75 yards and the second a nifty 67 yard return. Byron Marshall rushed 19 times for 130 yards reaching the endzone twice, Thomas Tyner had 93 yards on 13 carries and one score. Next Game for California – October 5 v. Washington State (3-2, 1-1 PAC-12), 1 pm/FS1. Next Game for Oregon – October 5 @Colorado (2-1, 0-1 PAC-12), 3 pm/PAC-12 Network
