I know this may be hard to take, but Oregon has a chance at regaining control of it’s own fate in the Pac 12 North – actually two chances, but since no one really thinks that Cal will take down Stanford on November 23rd. If you do please check your medication. The Ducks will have to pull for a USC team that has a new coach and seems to be somewhat reinvigorated since Lane Kiffin was fired.
As it stands the Oregon Ducks have a loss and the Cardinal have a loss, but Stanford holds the tie breaker over Oregon since beating them 26-20 on Thursday night. The only way for the Ducks to get back to the Pac 12 Championship game(another game on the schedule also doesn’t look bad for the BCS computers, although the National Championship is a longshot at this point.) is for either Cal or USC to take down the Cardinal. Stanford also faces Notre Dame before the season comes to a close but win or lose it won’t matter in the Pac-12 Standings.
If your still hurting – some humor courtesy of AddictedtoQuack.com:
If a tree falls in the forest, and it hits the Oregon defense, does it pick up a first down?
All is not lost this season for the Ducks and there is still plenty to play for. The Rose Bowl or Orange Bowl are some of the possibilities I have seen predicted in reading the blogs Friday morning. This weekend series of games includes Alabama and LSU which always has some intrigue. Oh, and next year none of this BCS BS will matter. That brings somewhat of a smile to my face.
Oregon returns home to face Utah on Saturday at Autzen. Gametime will be either 12:30pm or 1pm PT on Fox or Fox Sports 1. Stanford at USC was announced on Friday for a 5pm PT Kickoff on ABC.
