Oregon and Stanford met on the football field on Thursday and the Ducks came out on the wrong end with a loss. However, with the rankings on Sunday Mark Helfrich and his team did not fall too far. (I do kind of feel bad for Oklahoma) The Ducks are now #6 in the Bowl Championship Series standings and predictions are abound of destinations for the team. Fortunately all are still in the month of January.

Ducks Will Be Bowling, But Where? I See Oranges In Their Future

One of the more interesting reads from Michael Felder on Bleacher Report has the Ducks in ‘2013’s Best Bowl’ and heading to Miami for the Orange Bowl, possibly against Clemson, but the Tigers still have work to do – even more than the Ducks to get there.  Jerry Palm from CBS Sports also sees the Ducks and Tigers in the Orange Bowl.  From Phil Steele’s predictions DAT and Company will also head to the Orange Bowl, but to take on a team from the Big 10 in the Wisconsin Badgers.

Comcast Sportsnet’s Aaron Fentress says there is a slim chance that Oregon could still walk away with College Football’s ultimate prize, but they will need some help to get there.   Of course Duck fans need to root for USC this week to beat Stanford. This will give the Ducks control of their own fate to the Pac 12 Championship game, that is if they finish the season strong with wins.

Former Ducks Make a Statement in the NFL

NFL games this season have been filled with former Ducks on the playing field, including a monster start for Former Duck and Buffalo Bill Kiko Alonso. Yesterday attention turned to San Francisco where two former players once again met on the field, but this time an NFL field. The Carolina Panthers and Running Back Kenjon Barner took on San Francisco and Running Back LaMichael James. The Panthers would take the game and now have a five game winning streak. They won 10-9.  GoDucks.com and Rob Moseley take a look at Oregon Running Back Royalty.
