The Oregon Women’s Volleyball team 14-10, 7-7 Pac 12)has had a solid season so far in 2013, but they have fallen short in the Pac 12 part of the season and prior to Sunday risked falling below the .500 mark. Liz Brenner and company have been in the big matches this year and have fallen just short of winning a game that would continue the match, until they met the Bruins in Los Angeles.

Oregon was down two sets to none to UCLA when the momentum finally shifted. Lauren Plum had 56 assists, 13 digs and 5 kills as the Ducks took the final three games of the match to win 3-2 over the Bruins. Oregon lost the first game of the weekend to #6 USC on Friday. Coach Jim Moore’s workhorse also had a solid game.

Liz Brenner, the Ducks multisport athlete led with 27 kills, 21 came in the final three games of the set. She also had 14 digs on the night. Oregon now turns toward home games against Stanford on Thursday and Cal on Friday. Last year at this point Oregon was ranked 4th in the Nation. A victory against the Cardinal won’t get them into the Top 5, but it will get them back on the right track.
