PAC-12 Football Weekend Recap (Week 12)

The deepest conference in the country again showed why with Stanford (8-2, 6-2 PAC-12) falling on the road in front of a sold out LA Coliseum to USC (8-3, 5-2 PAC-12) 20-17. The defeat again puts Oregon (9-1, 6-1 PAC-12) in control of their own PAC-North destiny. Here’s the rest of what happened around the PAC-12 Conference this weekend and out recap.

Friday, November 15 –

Washington Huskies (6-4, 3-4 PAC-12) 31 @ 13 UCLA Bruins (8-2, 5-2 PAC-12) 41: Myles Jack had another standout performance collecting four more touchdowns on offense and 59 yards on the ground against his home town team. Brett Hundley was 13-of-22 for 159 yards with two passing scores. Keith Price left due to injury but was 10-of-18 for 181 yards with a TD pass, his replacement Cyler Miles was 15-of-22 for 149 yards with two passing touchdowns but did throw a pair of interceptions. Bishop Sankey carried the ball 27 times for 91 yards in the defeat as Washington was unable to overcome four turnovers. . Saturday, November 16 –

Washington State Cougars (5-5, 3-4 PAC-12) 24 @ Arizona Wildcats (6-4, 3-4 PAC-12) 17: Arizona led 14-10 but Washington State outscored the Wildcats 14-3 in the second half. Both offenses put up yards with Wazzu having 420 total yards to 395 by the UofA. Connor Halliday threw 53 times for 319 yards with two scores. The Cougars were able to overcome B.J. Denker throwing for 200 yards and Ka’Deem Carey rushing for 132 yards. With one more win Wazzu will be bowl eligible which is in impressive feat for Mike Leach’s program. Utah Utes (4-6, 1-6 PAC-12) 21 @ 6 Oregon Ducks (9-1, 6-1 PAC-12) 44: Utah defeated Stanford where Oregon was coming off a road defeat to the Cardinal. What would happen when the teams met at Autzen Stadium? Try the Ducks bouncing back, Marcus Mariota showed no effects of the MCL sprain from the previous week throwing for 288 yards on 19-of-26 attempts with three passing TD’s. The Utah got to 17-14 in the third quarter but Oregon quickly got a score from De’Anthony Thomas to go by ten and left the Utes in the dust. Next Game for Utah – November 23 v. Washington State (5-5, 3-4 PAC-12), 12:30 pm/PAC-12 Network. Next Game for 5 Oregon – November 23 @Arizona (6-4, 3-4 PAC-12), 12:30 pm/ABC or ESPN2

California Golden Bears (1-10, 0-8 PAC-12) 24 @ Colorado Buffaloes (4-6, 1-6 PAC-12) 41: This PAC-12 match-up featured two winless teams on long conference losing streaks. Colorado was looking to snap a 14-game streak while California was trying to end a 12-gamer. Sefo Liufau passed for 364 yards for the Buffs tossing three touchdowns. Liufau’s two favorite targets were who both had 140 yards were Paul Richardson and Nelson Spruce neither who caught touchdowns however. For Cal who’s now lost 13 PAC-12 games in-a-row got a 100 yard rushing performance from Brendan Bigalow who had 107 yards on 15 carries with two scores. Colorado won a conference game for the first time since September 22 of last year. Next Game for California – November 23 @9 Stanford (8-2, 6-2 PAC-12), 1 pm/FS1. Oregon State Beavers (6-4, 4-3 PAC-12) 17 @ 19 Arizona State Sun Devils (8-2, 6-1 PAC-12) 30: Oregon State fell behind 13-0 at Arizona State and couldn’t overcome five turnovers. ASU continues to lead the PAC-South division by a game following the win. The Sun Devils got another 100 yard game from Marion Grice running 24 times for 118 yards with two scores. While throwing for 320 yards Sean Mannion threw four interceptions for the Beavers, with the dagger coming on a Arizona State pick six by Robert Nelson with five minutes left making it 30-10. Next Game for Oregon State – November 16 v. Washington (6-4, 3-4 PAC-12), 7:30 pm/ESPN2 . Next Game for 17 Arizona State – November 23 @14 UCLA (8-2, 5-2 PAC-12), 4 pm/FOX
