Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota’s day did not start out well. He (oddly) threw an interception on the Ducks first offensive play of the game. He was attempting a pass to Bralon Addison that went through his hands, was hit in the air and ended up in the hands of an Arizona Wildcat. His streak of 353 consecutive passes without an interception is now over. Arizona also scored on the first drive on a handoff from the 6 yard line to Running Back Ka’Deem Carey. The second drive of the game for the Oregon Offense ended with a punt as Running Back De’Anthony Thomas was unable to pull in a ball on 3rd and 8.

From there it was the Ka’Deem Carey show. The talented junior in the third quarter became the all time leading rusher in the history of Arizona football and also scored his third touchdown of the game, then making it 35-9 in favor of the Wildcats. It it not known if the game against Oregin will be Carey’s last at Arizona, but if he stays for his senior year. Look Out.

For Oregon it was another game of trying to play catchup. Arizona Quarterback B.J. Denker made Oregon QB Marcus Mariota seem human, although he did show off his feet in the running game against Wildcats. De’Anthony Thomas, who was used in the passing game early was relegated to Running Back duty after Bralon Addison left the game in the first half with an injury. He was seen on the sideline in a boot. Denker took over the game, even with an ankle injury as every possession it seemed the ‘Cats could have their way with

The Ducks saw the endzone in the beginning of the 4th Quarter with a strike from Mariota to Josh Huff to make it 35-16. After that Carey added another score to make it 42-16 as the Ducks could not recover.

No National Championhip, No Pac 12 Championship Game, No Rose Bowl and Likely No BCS Bowl. The Oregon Ducks have lost two in a row for the first time in a long time. How will fans react on Senior Day at Autzen next weekend to the once National Title contender that has fallen once again. What will become of players like De’Anthony Thomas and Marcus Mariota. Will they be back next season or jump to the NFL. The season comes down to next week and a win in the Civil War is certainly a consolation prize in a season that had such promise.

Saturday’s Game was the Biggest Upset in the History of Arizona Football.

We should enjoy the performance of these players we have come to love next week and cheer them on one more time as it may be their final game at Autzen. Oregon and Oregon State in the Civil War next Saturday kicks off at 4pm PT on Fox Sports 1.
