Last week the Baseball writers picked Oregon pitcher Cole Irvin and a third team All American for the 6th ranked Oregon Ducks. This Week the folks at Louisville Slugger have given that same honor to Irvin, as well as Pitcher Garrett Cleavinger. Both pitchers are entering their sophomore seasons with the Ducks.

Cleavinger last season went 9-0 in 37 appearances out of the bullpen and had a 1.24 ERA, including a 4-0 record in the Pac 12 stretch of the season. Irvin was masterful as a starter going 12-0 and setting and Oregon record. He wrapped up the year going 12-3 with a 2.48 ERA and also pitched four complete games.

The Preseason All American Honor is the first for Cleavinger and the second for Irvin before the start of the 2014 season which brings quite a bit of talent to PK Park in late February and early March. The Ducks have quite the homestand to begin the year as they are at PK Park from February 25th through March 23rd. In that span they face six teams including Cal State Fullerton, USC, and Ohio State.

The season kicks off for Oregon in Hawaii in a four game set starting on Febuary 14th.
