The waiting is over when it come to one player who had a decision to make concerning his future with the Ducks. However, it is not the player we thought. Junior Cornerback Terrence Mitchell has declared for NFL Draft. Mitchell’s decision to depart Oregon was first reported by Yahoo Sports!. Some are saying this is not a good decison on his part to leave and that he should have remained a Duck for another year.

"Being at Oregon was great.  Since I’ve been here we won big-time bowls and accomplished a lot, 38 games starting, I felt like I accomplished a lot and it was time to go to the next thing.Oregon Cornerback Terrence Mitchell on leaving the Ducks for the NFL"

I will say this, regardless of the evaluation he received Mitchell, who did have a knee surgery last season will have the opportunity in the coming months to train, and perform to show his abilities before the Draft. The Ducks are now left short on Defense, specifically in the secondary position. Junior Ifo Ekpre-Olomu still has a decision to make on staying or going as well, which could make an interesting scenerio for Oregon Secondary Coach John Neal heading into the Spring Game in May.

Mitchell leaves the Ducks closing out his Junior season with five interceptions. The most memorable in the Alamo Bowl vs Texas.
