Oregon, currently 13-2 on the season and ranked 17th in the country has a team that has shown they can perform and win in venues throughout the country this season. When the wins did come so did one player in particular. Oregon Transfer Joseph Young. He has had a solid season so far for the Ducks hitting double digits in scoring in all but one game this season. He led the Ducks on Thursday night with 29 points in the loss to Cal.

Along with another transfer player Mike Moser, Young has become a leader for the Ducks so far this season.

The list of Player of the Year Candidates is long and as it stands Young is in the ‘consideration’ section. The Ducks need to get it together and start to play more solid on the defensive side of the ball. Early on, it was a team effort to be successful. Leaders like Moser, Young, and Senior Johnathan Loyd need to find a way to get the Ducks back on track.

If Young can stay hot offensively and the Ducks can outscore the competition as they did at the beginning of the season, who knows how far he can help this talented team go.

The Ducks host Stanford Sunday(2pm, Fox Sports 1), before a trip and a Civil War in Corvallis next weekend.
