Baseball America Sees Oregon as a Contender in 2014

Oregon Baseball kicks off their season on Friday night in Hawaii and in looking ahead before the season even starts Baseball America has compiled their list of the NCAA Field of 64 teams that will fight for the chance to play in Omaha at the end of the season. To start the season Oregon State is the favorite to win the Pac-12 Conference, as they have been the last several years. However, the Ducks even without Pitcher Cole Irvin for the season should make a good run and Aaron Fitt is one of several folks that things that Coach George Horton’s team will make it to the post season and host a Super Regional Round in Eugene.

Oregon however will not be the 2014 National Championship team, according to the article. Along with Oregon, the Ducks Rivals from the north Oregon State  also make the field of 64 along with UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State from the Pac-12 Conference.

Oregon would host Miami, New Mexico and Sacramento State according to their prediction. Oregon starts their season with a four game set in Hawaii vs the Rainbow Warriors this weekend.

The four game series in Hawaii begins Friday at 8:35pm PT, Game 2 is Saturday at 8:35pm PT. The third game is slated for Sunday at 3:05pm, as well as the finale Monday at 3:05pm. There is no tv for the games, but audio can be heard locally in Eugene on 1320 AM and on GoDucks.com
