Oregon Breaks 2-2 Tie in 7th in Game 2 vs Hawaii, Ducks Win 10-5

The Oregon Baseball team is off to a solid start in 2014 and has won two games in a row. On Friday it was the Ducks Bullpen that shined, Saturday night it was the Freshman on Offense. Freshman A,J. Balta helped to break a 5-5 tie in the 7th inning and the team would ride the momentum to a victory.

Starting Pitcher Jordan Spencer found himself in some trouble giving up five hits and two earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of work. Senior pitcher Darrell Hunter came in to shut down the Rainbow Warriors in the 4th giving up one run and one hit earning the victory on Saturday night. Offensively for Oregon Aaron Payne and Mitchell Tolman scored for the Ducks in the first inning. They added another run in the second inning and again in the fourth. Hawaii countered to a tie game in the 7th when Freshman A.J. Balta would put Oregon ahead for good in the game as Oregon went on to win 10-5.

The series continues on Sunday afternoon at 3:05pm PT. The Ducks sent Freshman Matt Krook to the mound. Krook had the chance to be a part of the Florida Marlins organization in 2014. He was 35th overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft but decided to head to the Ducks. Oregeon closes out the series vs Hawaii on Monday afternoon(3:05pm PT).
