An opening series win throwing eight innings and giving up just three hits with five strikeouts was the line for Oregon Starting Pitcher Tommy Thorpe. The Junior Lefthander seems to have figured out what a month ago was a disastrous outing giving up six runs in an outing on February 28th against Cal State Fullerton, who would end up sweeping the three game series in Eugene. This week he is the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. He is 3-2 on the season and has cemented himself as the Friday starter for the Ducks this season.

The honor is the first for Thorpe in his career and the eighth Oregon Duck to be named overall. Oregon finished their longest homestand of the season with a sweep of Utah this weekend at PK Park. The Ducks now go on the road .

San Francisco awaits Oregon for a midweek set on Tuesday and Wednesday before the Ducks head to the Farm to take on Stanford as Pac-12 play resumes on Friday with a three game set with the Cardinal.
