Oregon Softball Sweeps Doubleheader vs UC Santa Barbara
Oregon Head Coach Mike White and the Softball team have played Washington and UC Santa Barbara so far at home in 2014 and through five games are undefeated at Howe Field. Overall they sport a 32-4 mark and will face a different type of competition this weekend with the top team in the country, a Pac-12 foe, UCLA coming to town for a three game series.

This season the team has been led by Seniors Courtney Ceo and Alexa Peterson. Both have played key roles. In Game 1 vs Santa Barbara Peterson had the big hit with runners in scoring position to help earn a walk off win 2-1. Kailee Cuico extended her record setting home run pace to forty one in the second game of the series to notch another victory, 10-4. The Ducks have been tested early this season in many of the Tournaments they have played in. They currently rank #3 in the nation with the #1 Bruins headed to Howe Field this weekend in a big series with likely post season implications on the line for Oregon.
Oregon Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins is closing in on twenty wins for the season, currently 19-2. She will get the start in Game 1 on Friday. The Game 2 starter against Santa Barbara Jasmine Smithson-Willette threw a complete game giving up four runs and six hits through seven innings with five strikeouts. She should see a start this weekend.
The weekend series will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network. Game 1 is Friday(3pm PT), Saturday(3pm PT) and Sunday(1pm PT).
