On a weekend where Oregon(22-8, 7-3 Pac-12) needed to make a statement to stay near the top of the Pac-12 Conference Standings, George Horton’s team started a three game series with the Washington Huskies on the right foot with a 10-3 win putting them withing one game of first place. The Ducks offense was sparked by Infielder Mitchell Tolman and Outfielder Kyle Garlick who combined for five hits, five RBI’s and four runs scored. On the mound Oregon Starter Kyle Garlick looked more like himself.

Thorpe(4-3) went 5 2/3 innings allowing just a single run along with eight hits and five strikeouts earning his fourth win on the season. The Ducks bullpen started a little shaky with Darrell Hunter allowing two runs over two innings but Oregon pulled through with Garrett Cleavinger and Closer Jake Reed who allowed two walks in a non save situation. The Ducks and Huskies are back at it on Saturday night(7pm PT, Pac-12 Networks)

Oregon gives the ball to Matt Krook. The 6 foot 3 Freshman has thrown 43 innings this season. Through seven games he has a 2-1 record  and a 1.88 ERA.  He leads the team in strikeouts with 56 on the season.
