Oregon Ducks Led by Baumgartner and Garlick in Game One vs UC Riverside, Win 10-2

The Oregon Baseball team appears to be back on track heading into the weekend following a 7-2 win over non-conference foe UC Riverside on Friday night. Oregon Ducks Starter Tommy Thorpe returned to Pac-12 Player of the Week form from last month to shut down UCR giving up one earned run on two hits in seven innings of work. Oregon made the most of their baserunning opportunitues on Friday night led by Tyler Baumgartner and Kyle Garlick

Baumgartner had a bases loaded three run double giving Oregon a three run lead in the third inning. UC Riverside would answer with one run in the fifth inning. Oregon Ducks Pinch Hitter Kyle Garlick would get George Horton’s team back on the board with his third home run of the season. The team would continue to manufacture runs in the seventh and eighth innings pushing their lead to 8-1 and evetually leading to a 10-2 victory.

With Oregon Starting Pitcher Freshman Matt Krook out for the time being with  arm stiffness, the Saturday start(2pm) position goes to Sunday(12pm) and Former Weekday starter Jeff Gold .who is 7-0 on the season. Trent Paddon(0-2) gets the Sunday nod for the Oregon Ducks. The team will also entertain San Diego on Monday(1pm) with Brando Tessar getting the start.

Following the weekend series Oregon gets back to Pac-12 Conference play and hosts Washington State next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
