UC Riverside was finally able to keep a game close this weekend against the Oregon Ducks and they managed to rough up ‘fill in’ Starter Trent Paddon who labored through three innings giving up six hits and three runs in his first career start. Paddon has seen action strictly from the bullpen until Sunday, but with Oregon Freshman Starter Matt Krook out with arm stiffness Coach George Horton had some shuffling to do to the rotation for this weekend. Offensively it was the usual suspects for Oregon.

Both Kyle Garlick and Tyler Baumgartner went 2-4. Garlick had two RBI’s and a run scored and Baumgartner had an RBI and two runs scored for the home team. UC Riverside Starter Ben Doucette was chased after 5 2/3 innings after also giving up three runs on six hits. The game took just under three hours and was another victory for the Oregon Ducks who are now 27-10 on the season. Oregon faces a quick turnaround and will take on San Diego on Monday afternoon at 1pm PT at PK Park before returning to Pac-12 play later this week when Washington State comes to town for three games on Thursday(6pm) , Friday(6pm)  and Saturday(2pm).

There is a threat of inclimate weather later this week and if the University of Oregon sees the need they may make part of the series with the Cougars a doubleheader. If this happens we will of course let you know. Oregon has already been a part of two doubleheaders this year including a home series at PK Park with Seattle and on the road against Stanford.
