Oregon Ducks PK Park Named One of the Coolest Venues in College Baseball
The NCAA has named Oregon’s PK Park as a ‘must see.’ The #3 must see college ballpark in the country. Quite an honor for a venue that is just five years old. It opened in 2009 when the Oregon Baseball program returned from a long hiatus. In just five years the fans have returned and the Oregon Ducks Baseball team has become a program on notice, not only in the Pac-12 Conference, but around the country.
The venue has hosted several NCAA Tournament games including a Super Regional in 2012 and a Regional Round in 2013. Attendance during the season ranks 34th in the NCAA when it comes to College Baseball. The parks single game attendance record came in the Super Regional against Kent State in 2012 when 4,825 fans watched Oregon lose to Kent State in Game 3 of that series in heartbreaking fashion.
If you have not had the chance to get out to (Pat Kilkenney) PK Park yet this season for a game there are still plenty of opportunities to watch the Oregon Ducks Baseball team in action, of course if you miss George Horton’s team you can also head out to watch Minor League Baseball’s Eugene Emeralds in action throughout the summer. PK Park is their home.
Oregon takes on Washington State this week on Thursday(6pm), Friday(6pm) and Saturday(2pm).
