Will Oregon Ducks Be Upstaged in 2014 For Uniform Coolness Factor?

Here we are not even at the Spring Game yet for the Oregon Ducks and I am writing about, of all things, uniforms. Last year I don’t think I touched on the topic until the summer, but several teams across the country, including the Washington Huskies from the Pac-12 recently unveiled their new look(s) for the upcoming college football season. Nike also released a new line for two Florida schools in Florida State and Miami. If your would like to have some relflection on last year’s uniforms SBNation takes a look.

Now that your caught up, what will this season look like for Oregon, the Pac-12, and the rest of the nation. Last year we saw several combinations for the Oregon Ducks that could have easily been an ‘Easter egg hunt gone wrong’ over a cool look for playing a football game. What Marcus Mariota and the team broke out the ‘pink’ nightmare jerseys(black with pink numerals) it was an interesting idea, but not sure it played as well as it could have, especially with pink helmets. Of course, they did win the game that day against Washington State.

In looking at what has already been released this year one thing caught my eye. Details. The detail around the collar of the Florida State uniforms is striking. If the folks at Oregon can do something like this I’m not sure how it would actually come off with the ‘wings’ that have become a mainstay of what the Oregon Ducks have used in past seasons. As for what is ahead there are some things we already know.

The Oregon Football uniforms of 2014 will look cool, idientify the program and will once again be purchased by fans across the country because of not only how they look but more importantly from the program’s success over past seasons. Look for the first glimpse of camouflage uniforms for the upcoming Spring Game likely in the coming weeks, or just before the start of the game.

The Oregon Ducks Spring Game is on Saturday, May 3rd at 11am(Pac-12 Networks)
