The Oregon Ducks may be down several key pieces for this season, including Starters Cole Irvin and recently announced Starter Matt Krook who will join Irvin with season ending Tommy John Surgery. However the team is finding ways to pick up the pieces and be successful, including the current nine game winning streak and Starter Jeff Gold, who is 9-0 on the season. Earlier today another member of the Oregon Pitching staff was recognized.

Former Starter, now closer for the Oregon Ducks Jake Reed has been named to the Stopper of the Year Watch List from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Reed has quietly turned himself from one role to another over the last few months and currently leads the Pac-12 Conference with ten saves on the season so far and is 10th in the nation in the category. The Junior is 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA and has pitched 22 2/3 innings and struck out twenty two allowing 14 hits. Reed is currently ranked in the Top ten of several key pitching categories including saves(3rd), innings pitched(4th), and innings pitched(4th.)

Finalists for the award will be announced on June 4th and the winner will be announced during the College World Series according to the release from the University of Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks (31-10, 10-5 Pac-12) take their nine game winning streak on the road this week to Corvallis to meet Oregon State(27-7, 11-4 Pac-12).
