—9:30 pm PT UPDATE: Both Damyean Dotson and Brandon Austin were suspended following a forcible rape investigation that won’t result in criminal charges for either player.

This is not good news for a player in Austin who already has a ‘record’ from Providence where he was suspended for not upholding his responsibilities for student athletes. Dotson had a run in with Eugene Police earlier this season trying to get into a local bar with a fake id.—

It has been an interesting Monday morning following the news surrounding the Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team. It was announced by ESPN that not only was Guard Dominic Artis was intending to transfer from the program, but that three players including Artis were banned from team activities.  The other two other players were Damyean Dotson and Brandon Austin(a transfer from Providence eligible to play this December).

Artis and Dotson have been key pieces to the Oregon Ducks over the last two seasons both offensively and defensively.  Although keep in mind of the ship is sinking there is not really anyone better to stop it than Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman who over the last few seasons has not had many ‘growing pains’ years at the helm. Regardless of the upcoming recruiting class and who remains he may not have a choice but have one for the upcoming season if the above is in fact true.

Oregon Ducks Guard Joseph Young already announced his return and will clearly be the face of the program for the upcoming season, along with veterans Jalil-Abdul Bassit, Elgin Cook, and Theo Friedman. More on this story as it becomes available.
