Oregon Ducks Catcher Chase Drops Oregon State With Two Home Run Night
Oregon Takes on Oregon State at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon KPNWSports
The Oregon Ducks Baseball team had had their share of adversity this season following the loss of two starting pitchers in Cole Irvin before the season even began and Freshman Matt Krook, however George Horton’s team continues to power through and earn victories. Last night in the final regular season game against Oregon State in the Civil War Series the Oregon Ducks came through with a solid victory over the number one team in the land.
Oregon Catcher Shaun Chase put the Ducks on the board early with a solo home run, but Oregon State would come storming back to take a 2-1 lead. Chase and his teammates were not done. In what seemed almost clinical, the Oregon Ducks Catcher’s next at bat would see Chase fouling off five pitches along with numerous shake-offs from the Oregon State pitcher to his catcher before finally hitting his second home run three hundred ninety feet over the right field wall into the darkness giving the Oregon Ducks the edge in the 6-2 win over the Beavers. It was also the fifth straight victory for Chase and company and his second two home run game in a week.
The Oregon Ducks have some swagger heading into the final series of the regular season against the Cal Bears this weekend. The final three games start on Thursday this week and continue Friday and Saturday. All three games will be at 7pm PT and be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
