Over the last few weeks it has not been good news in the media for the Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball program following the release of three players who were accused of an off campus rape. Damyean Dotson, Dominic Artis, and Brandon Austin were released from the team on May 5th following an investigation from Eugene Police and the University on the incident. Moving forward rather than having a solid front court in 2015 Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman now faces, for the most part, a rebuilding process.

Several key pieces remain to work with including Senior Joseph Young and NCAA Tournament Standout Elgin Cook. The Oregon Ducks have also added several recruiting pieces including Altman’s first five star player in JaQuan Lyle and three star Casey Benson. The school received word on Thursday that Three Star Point Guard Ahmaad Rorie will also be joining the Oregon Ducks for the Fall. Rorie committed to the Cal Bears in 2012, but with the retirement of Head Coach Mike Montgomery he reopened his recruitment. He becomes the seventh newcomber to the program for the upcoming season as the team looks to make a turn.

The Oregon Ducks Basketball team still has three scholarships to fill for the 2014-15 season. Expect Altman to look for some back court assistance with the remaining scholarships on the table. Rorie decided on the Oregon Ducks over Washington State among others.
