The Oregon Ducks have now won six straight games and on Thursday night picked up a 5-1 win over the California Golden Bears thanks, in part to the arm of Starting Pitcher Tommy Thorpe who threw the first complete game of his career. Thorpe gave up just six hits and one run in the nine innings he threw on short rest. His usual day to start is Friday, but this series was moved back a day in part so that the Oregon Ducks could have their season complete before the NCAA Tournament Committee met on Sunday to decide the post season destinations and teams for this years Tournament.

On Offense, the Oregon Ducks are clicking in all cylinders. Oregon took the lead before recording a hit as Mitchell Tolman walked, took  second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a ground out before scoring. Mark Karaviotis drove in a run with the first hit of the evening. Tyler Baumgartner added an RBI single.

Friday night could be a special night  at PK Park for Game two as Starter Jeff Gold, who is 9-1 on the season will look to take his place atop the all-time career victories list with a victory. He is currently tied with former Oregon Pitcher Alex Keudell. (With the win on Thursday night Starter Tommy Thorpe is also closing in on the all-time mark with 19 career victories currently) Friday and Saturday’s games are set for 7pm PT and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
